PGF for extra large Images
Tile structures are particularly suitable for extremely large images, such as those found in medicine, cartography and aerial or satellite imagery. In a tile structure, each tile is an independently encoded image, with all tiles stored together in a single file.
PGFext is a tiling structure for natural and artificially generated images. The individual tiles are encoded using libPPP and are thus stored very efficiently in terms of memory, regardless of the image content. Across all tiles, PGFext maintains a preview image that can be visualized immediately.
